Kathleen brings over three decades of experience in family law to her practice. As a 1983 graduate of San Diego State University with a B.S. in Business Administration, she earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego in 1991. Kathleen began her career at the reputable firm of Ashworth, Blanchet & Raya, where she honed her expertise in complex family law matters, including divorce, custody, property division, and spousal and child support.

In addition to her litigation background, Kathleen has a strong focus on providing strategic consulting services to family law clients. As a concierge attorney, she has guided hundreds of clients through the legal process, offering personalized solutions and working closely with litigators to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her extensive experience in quality control and client services ensures that every case is managed with precision and care, from auditing accounts to transitioning cases and closing files efficiently.

Kathleen’s well-rounded approach extends beyond the courtroom. She has led lectures and workshops on finance, estate planning, and parenting, empowering couples to make informed decisions about their future. Kathleen is a member of the following organizations: SDCBA, CASD, Lawyers Club [member of Community Outreach Committee participating in Read-Ins twice a year at Central Elementary], La Raza, Chicano Federation, Kids Turn, SDFLBA, San Diego Blood Bank donor [Guardian status].

Kathleen has a distinguished record of community service. She served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for both of her daughters and as Service Unit Director, earning the "Leader of Distinction" award for her leadership. As Events Planner for the PTA and the Jamul Arts and Music Counsel, Kathleen successfully raised 95% of the annual income to support arts and music programs in the local schools. Her contributions were recognized with the Outstanding Volunteer Award, a commendation from the JDUSD School Board, and the PTA Continuing Service Award. Additionally, Kathleen served as President of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women and as California State Meetings Planner, supporting 23,000 members across the state.
