Adrian Doty

Experience & Education

Mr. Doty brings a strong background in family law to his practice, combining extensive legal knowledge with a compassionate approach to meet the unique needs of each client. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2008, where he was also an accomplished NCAA Division I athlete in Cross Country and Track. His dedication to excellence was recognized with the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Award.

Mr. Doty obtained his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School in 2011, participating in enriching programs such as the Vancouver Summer Abroad Program and the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, which honed his skills in both international and community-focused legal services.

Starting his career as a civil litigation attorney in Los Angeles, Mr. Doty developed a keen understanding of complex legal disputes. In 2014, he transitioned to the Bay Area, where he gained significant experience in complex family law litigation at a distinguished family law firm in San Jose. His practice has since been dedicated to guiding family law litigants throughout their legal journey, making him a trusted advocate for families navigating life's most difficult transitions.

Mr. Doty has extensive experience handling a variety of complex family law matters, including mediation, high-net-worth and complex divorce cases, child custody and visitation disputes, move-away requests, military-family law issues, and domestic violence restraining orders. He understands the emotional challenges that come with family law cases and is committed to managing his clients’ cases with efficiency and compassion. While Mr. Doty strives to reach settlements through strategic negotiation, he is prepared to litigate assertively to safeguard his clients’ interests when necessary.

In The Community

In 2018, Mr. Doty relocated to San Diego, California with his wife and daughters. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, learning how to golf (especially now that he is in San Diego), and watching movies.
