Carmen E. Ramos is a Certified Family Law Specialist with over 30 years of experience practicing law, including 29 years focused exclusively on Family Law. Throughout her career, Carmen has developed extensive experience guiding clients through the complexities of family law matters and advocating for solutions that protect their interests and support their long term goals.

Carmen was licensed to practice law in December 1993 and earned her certification as a Certified Family Law Specialist in 2005. She began her legal career with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as a Deputy District Attorney for four years and acted as lead counsel in thirteen jury trials. This early litigation experience provided her with a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy and trial practice.
She later transitioned to the Family Support Division, now known as the Department of Child Support Services, where she developed a particular interest in support related matters and gained valuable insight into the complexities of family law. During this time, she also developed professional relationships with numerous family law attorneys, which ultimately inspired her transition into private practice. Since then, Carmen has devoted her practice to helping clients navigate the often complex and highly personal legal issues that arise in family law including complex financial issues such as income available for support, restricted stock units, and buyout scenarios.
Today, Carmen takes a strategic and client centered approach to every matter, taking the time to understand each client’s priorities, concerns, and long term goals. She works to develop practical strategies tailored to the unique circumstances of each case, with a focus on achieving efficient and effective resolutions. While she is prepared to advocate strongly for her clients in court when necessary, she prioritizes negotiation and settlement when doing so can achieve a favorable outcome and best serve her clients’ interests.

Through her participation, Carmen shares her expansive knowledge and experience to help individuals approach the process with greater clarity and understanding.
