Meet David
Since beginning his legal career in June 2020, David Crosgrove has developed a practical, solution-oriented approach to family law. With an engineer’s analytical mindset, he focuses on understanding what each client ultimately wants to achieve and developing a clear, strategic path toward that outcome.
Clients appreciate working with David because of his ability to balance understanding and compassion with direct communication and clear expectations. He is settlement-focused and practical, providing thoughtful guidance while helping clients understand their options, the strategy behind them, and the steps necessary to move their matter forward.

David began his career with Cage & Miles in 2016 as a file clerk and quickly became fascinated by the firm’s work in family law. While attending law school, he worked in nearly every area of the firm, gaining experience with clients, legal research and writing, employee training, and firm operations. He has also contributed to the firm’s growth by helping develop its filing system and spearheading technology initiatives that streamline processes and improve the client experience. He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2019, where he received an award for academic excellence in Professional Responsibility and Ethics, after earning his undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His diverse experience within the firm ultimately led him to become a licensed attorney with Cage & Miles in 2020.
As a family law attorney, David brings curiosity, analytical thinking, and a practical, creative approach to complex cases. His experience working with individuals navigating mental health challenges gives him particular insight into communication styles and family dynamics, which he also shares with colleagues to help them better understand their clients and cases. He is committed to educating clients, providing clear guidance, and developing strategies tailored to their unique circumstances and goals.
David’s approach to representing clients is to meet them where they are. He believes that when attorneys fail to understand where a client is starting from, they can only tell the client what the path looks like. By meeting clients where they are, David can help them see the path forward and guide them toward their goals. Representative matters include:
- Represented a father in a custody matter, resulting in an award of sole custody to client.
- Represented a mother in a high-conflict custody matter, resulting in a finding of domestic violence against the opposing party and an award of sole custody to client.
- Represented a husband in a high-conflict divorce matter, resulting in a favorable spousal support order.
Outside of his practice, David is driven by a genuine love of learning. Whether exploring a new interest or pursuing one of his longtime passions, he enjoys continually learning and trying new things. He especially enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and swimming, and most of all, spending time with his family while doing the things he loves.
