Experience & Education
Deanne Arthur is a graduate of Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. She started her legal career in her hometown of San Diego. Initially, she found her niche as a criminal defense attorney, handling numerous domestic violence restraining orders. However, this experience led her to discover her true passion for family law.
While at Howard University School of Law, Deanne received the CALI award for exceptional representation of indigent adult persons charged with crimes in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
Areas of Specialization
Deanne opened the Law Office of Deanne Arthur in 2016, devoted exclusively to Family Law. Since then, she has dedicated her legal practice to representing clients facing life-changing family disputes. Deanne has established herself as a formidable opponent and litigator in the Family Law community. Her experience as a criminal defense attorney has made her comfortable in the courtroom litigating cases. Deanne is also known for resolving pre-trial cases in the most beneficial way for her clients and their families.
Deanne joined the team at Cage and Miles in 2024, where she continues to focus exclusively on Family Law.
Deanne has also provided legal commentary on local breaking news stories in the media. She has been featured on KUSI News San Diego, Fox 5 News, CW 6 News, OAN News Network, NBC News, and KOGO AM radio.
Deanne has been selected by her peers and recognized as a “Rising Star” In The Best Lawyers publication from 2019-2022. Deanne was selected as a “Super Lawyer” in 2023 and 2024.
Deanne is a member of the San Diego County Family Law Bar Association, where she has been a seminar panelist, providing insight and expertise on relevant family law issues. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, where she volunteers as a Fee Arbitration Judge. She is also a member of The Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association.
In The Community
Deanne is a former college softball player who enjoys coaching girls' youth fastpitch softball. Deanne is also a former high school rodeo competitor, competing in barrel racing and pole bending and representing her district as Rodeo Queen. Deanne is now a mother to a son and spends her free time in a youth basketball gym or football field.
