Sandra Mayberry

Sandra L. Mayberry brings 28 years of Family Law experience to Cage and Miles. Ms. Mayberry earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1991 and her Juris Doctor from the USD School of Law in 1994. Her unique educational background has served Ms. Mayberry well in expertly handling complex and high asset cases.

In 2000, Ms. Mayberry became certified as a family law specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. In 2012, Ms. Mayberry was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

Areas of Specialization

Ms. Mayberry has devoted her legal practice to Family Law litigation throughout San Diego County.  She is a familiar face in all four San Diego County court houses and frequently works in the private judge arena. Frequently she is retained to manage difficult and high conflict child custody cases which frequently involve relocation requests and sophisticated financial cases involving high assets and complex issues. Ms. Mayberry has extensive experience with child custody evaluations, the use of custody and financial experts, discovery, cross examination, and trial practice.  Ms. Mayberry is known throughout San Diego County for her trademark calm but aggressive manner.  This tactical approach has served numerous clients and resulted in successful outcomes in Ms. Mayberry’s often-challenging cases.

Ms. Mayberry is regularly hired as a consulting attorney for clients who are participating in the mediation process.  Her extensive courtroom experience is an invaluable asset to these clients who need to know what the likely alternatives to settlement are.  Ms. Mayberry also represents clients in all premarital agreement matters, from negotiation and drafting, to review – and even in litigation if the marriage fails.

In addition to her work in litigated and mediated family law cases, Ms. Mayberry has been active in various aspects of the San Diego County Family Law Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar since she began practice.  She is a member of both the Association of Family and Conciliation Court (AFCC) and the Association of California Family Law Specialists (ACFLS).  Ms. Mayberry is a thought leader in the community, offering unique and innovative guidance to members. She is regularly requested as a speaker for both AAML and AFCC seminars.

In The Community

Ms. Mayberry is an avid marathon runner and has completed over 30 races. She frequently volunteers at aide stations for local marathon events.
