Traci Hoppes is an award-winning family law attorney who has been actively and passionately advocating for families since 1992. She is respected by judges and received the “Norby” Award in 2020, the highest honor given each year to a family law attorney in San Diego by the family law judiciary for dedicated and meritorious service to the family law bench and bar. She has also been selected as a Super Lawyer for six consecutive years and was voted a Top Family Law Attorney by readers in a San Diego Union-Tribune poll.

Traci Hoppes has practiced law since 1992, dedicating nearly her entire legal career to family law. As a Certified Family Law Specialist, she has developed extensive experience navigating the complex legal and personal challenges that arise in family law matters. Her career includes serving as a partner at her prior law firm, where she built a reputation for her deep knowledge of family law and dedicated advocacy for her clients.
After joining Cage & Miles, Traci has been able to focus exclusively on practicing law and serving her clients. This allows her to devote her time and attention to understanding each client’s unique circumstances, developing thoughtful and strategic legal solutions, and advocating for her clients’ best interests throughout their cases. - Successfully obtained custody and a move away to Texas for the Father of 3 minor children with parties that had previously shared custody
- Successfully obtained sole legal and sole physical custody of a minor child for a Father where Mother had alleged substance abuse problems despite prior order for 50-50 custody
- Successfully obtained sole legal and sole physical custody of 2 minor children for the Mother where Father and his girlfriend said such negative comments to the minor children that they were running away from him
- Successfully divorced higher income couple and maintained equal ownership of partnership with protective terms included in MSA for both parties
- Participated with parties and counsel in extended mediation with retired family law judge to obtain full resolution of high conflicted custody and financial issues in divorce
Traci has contributed to the continuing education of the legal community by organizing and presenting continuing legal education seminars through the East County Bar Association for approximately five years. These programs included judicial participation and provided attorneys with opportunities to gain practical insight into family law issues and courtroom procedures. Her involvement reflects her commitment to sharing her knowledge and experience with fellow members of the legal community.

Outside of practice, Traci treasures time with her four children and three grandchildren, who are an important part of her life. Traci is active in her church and welcomes the opportunity to work with clients seeking a Christian attorney. She enjoys staying active through personal training and yoga. A longtime fan of the San Diego arts and entertainment community, Traci also enjoys attending performances and events with her friends and family at local theaters and venues, where she holds season tickets.
