Runner — San Diego
The Runner/Process Server is responsible for facilitating the timely filing, service, and delivery of legal documents for the firm by coordinating with courts, government agencies, and internal teams. This role requires regular travel to courthouses and other locations, accurate documentation of service, and strong communication skills with court personnel and members of the public.

Responsibilities
- Travel regularly to courthouses, government agencies, and other locations to file legal documents, retrieve filed copies, and deliver materials on behalf of the firm
- Serve legal documents in accordance with applicable laws and procedures, and record details of delivery as required by the Proof of Service forms
- Maintain accurate records of filings, service attempts, deliveries, and receipts
- Ensure time-sensitive filings, service of process, and document deliveries are completed promptly and in accordance with firm and court deadlines
- Various other duties as assigned



Requirements
- Registered Process Server with the County Clerk/Recorder's Office is preferred, but not required. The firm will provide training and cover the costs associated with obtaining the necessary registration and requirements to become a Registered Process Server
- Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with internal team members, court staff, clerks, law enforcement, attorneys, and members of the public while representing the firm
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with courthouse personnel and internal staff to support efficient filings, service of process, and issue resolution
- Comfortability handling sensitive, tense, or unpredictable interactions calmly and professionally, adapting communication style to the audience, setting, and urgency of the situation
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, communicate any delays, issues, or changes clearly and promptly
- Good and clean driving record
- Valid driver's license
- Vehicle is provided



Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is: $22/hr - $27/hr, but ultimately will depend on experience.

Additonal Information
- This is an in-person position supporting both of our San Diego offices in Rancho Bernardo and Mission Valley, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be required, including occasional work outside of regular business hours, based on business needs.
